Eight Manchester Police Officers Receive Promotions: 01/03/09
Posted On 01/15/2009 17:23:26 by MayorGuinta
This past Wednesday January 7, I was privileged to take part in the promotional swearing-in of eight officers of the Manchester Police Department. On a day wrought with sleet and freezing rain, a large crowd of family and friends made their way to MPAL/Michael Briggs Community Center to be a part of this special ceremony. Manchester is honored to have a police force with such skill, integrity and professionalism, and the men who were honored on Wednesday embodied those traits.    ... Read More

As we move into 2009, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! While the country as a whole hopes that 2009 will be a better year than its predecessor, I believe that Manchester still has much to be thankful for as we look forward to the year ahead. Throughout the past year, we have witnessed an economic downturn that has affected each and every one... Read More

Store fronts are aglow, children are hushed with anticipation and families are coming together to celebrate the holidays. The Christmas season is one of my favorite times of the year, and I am gr... They Each Made $181K in One Month...
It's difficult sometimes to impress us, but these two did it.
Two "ordinary" folks in our business, Rachel O. and Lynn M. both made exactly $181,000 (each) in the month of September 2008 using a simple marketing system for their businesses.  Yes, in just one month.  And they did it working from home with only part time hours.  (leaving quite a lot of time for whatever you might choose to do with your... With hundreds of thousands of houses losing power over the course of the storm, repair crews have been working... Read More

It's easy to get swept up in the hype of "Early Bird Shopping" on the day after Thanksgiving.  I admit, I did, once.... Dragging my husband one day after Thanksgiving at 5am to get a "really good deal" on a tv and digital camera.  I got a deal, also slipped on ice in the parking lot and got pushed around by the crowds....:(   That is why when I started my own business, I knew that I could offer great deals to my customers, with out the hype of getting up e... Amoskeag Manufacturing Company of Manchester, N.H.
Posted On 11/11/2008 19:44:38 by grapevine
An army of volunteer bucket, ax and battering-ram companies evolved as the boundaries of the city expanded. These volunteer fire companies were loosely knit clubs whose members loved to socialize and dress up in smart uniforms. The city provided hand-operated pumping engines but the firemen were responsible for everything else. Their lack of discipline was notorious; rivalry between the companies bitter.

In l860, the city fathers hastily hired Detroit's first paid fire... Read More

This is my first attempt at blogging.  I don't consider myself to be a proficient writer but maybe this will help.  I'd like to use this space to chronicle some of the computer issues I run into on a daily basis and keep track of the newer viruses and malware I encounter.  The way I search for malware on a computer is to examine all running programs.  There are several utilities that make this easier to do and the more experience you have using the tools, the more proficient... Can I Borrow $25??  A story worth sharing... A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door. Sweet.   SON:  'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'   DAD:  'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the man.   SON:  'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'   DAD:  'That's none of your business.  Why do you ask such a thing?' the man said angrily.  (must not be what he feels he wo...
